
Born in Rome, Giacomo Sermoneta graduated with top marks and honours from the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome in the class of Marco Fiorini. He then furthered his studies in Switzerland with Marco Rizzi at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana and Rudolf Koelman at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste pursuing his second Master degree in Music Performance, minor in conducting with Marc Kissoczy. He attended masterclasses and lectures with teachers such as Nora Chastain, Daniel Sepec, Marco Fiorini, Marco Rizzi, Alberto Mina, Paolo Piomboni, David Romano, Alessandro Moccia, Roberto Gonzalez, Peter McGuire. He has been Konzertmeister of the youth orchestra of Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, performing and sharing the stage with eminent artists such as Antonio Pappano, Salvatore Accardo, Giovanni Sollima, Mario Brunello, Fabio Biondi, SumiJo, 2CELLOS, Andrea Bocelli, Elton John and many others. Giacomo has been awarded and winner of National and International competitions, including the International Kiwanis competition, International competition Syntonia, Crescendo International prize in Florence. He is member of the followings orchestras and ensambles: Roma tre Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento, World Youth Orchestras, ZHdk Strings, ONCI, Fame’s Institute Orchestra, Animato Foundation Orchestra. Giacomo is currently mentored by Peter McGuire (Tonhalle Ochester Zurich). He performs as both a soloist and chamber musician, playing a 2019 Petrit Kopsaj violin. As part of his post-university training, Giacomo is developing an ongoing research focused on improving the professional musician’s condition through the integration of physical, mental, and psychological aspects of musical practice. Within this framework, he is a certified Yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance 200-hour) and sound healing facilitator, having obtained internationally recognized certifications in Rishikesh, India. This training informs and supports his artistic and pedagogical approach at a professional level.
